Welcome Back and Summer Prep!

Hello again everyone!  We will be returning from taking a break from Thursday Nights (hope everyone had a good run through finals and is looking forward to your summers) on June 18th.  We will have some brief welcome back stuff and a chance to check in with each other, as well as a quick preview of some other upcoming stuff for the summer.

The bulk of the night will be devoted to doing a special training with someone from an organization called Solidarity.  They are the group we will be teaming up with this summer for a regular service project on Wednesday afternoons from 2-4 pm.  Together, we'll being putting on some summer camp-type activities for elementary aged students in a depressed neighborhood in Fullerton.  Thursday Night, June 18th is our chance to hear more about how this will work, get some training, and brainstorm and plan together.  It sounds like it might be a really functional evening, but having gotten to spend some time with the folks from Solidarity already, I know it will be a blast and very shaping for all of us.

This project will also be a joint effort with CLF young adults, so we will likely have some of them besides our leaders joining us the 18th also, and this should be a great way to build some new relationships.  Our time with Solidarity and the kids in the neighborhood will begin the first week of July.

Hope to see you all there, and get ready for a great summer!
