We're reaching the peak of summer, at least weather wise, and I think we've all been feeling it a little bit. It seems like last week was a pretty crazy, busy, and tiring one for a lot of people too if Sunday morning discussion and some other conversations I've had are any indication.
This week, then, should be a welcome change of pace to something a little more chilled out. Here's what to expect:
VBS all week from 9-12 in the morning. This is for elementary age kids, but a number of us youth are helping as team and activity leaders. If you haven't signed up yet, but it sounds fun to you, let Robb know and I'm sure we can fit you in somewhere great. There's an end of VBS BBQ at Robb's on Friday afternoon for helpers along with the kids as well.
Wednesday - continuing volunteering with Solidarity. We'll be working on more videos of skits, starting a mosaic mural craft that will go on for a couple of weeks, and playing an outside but not too physically exerting game - to get some energy out, but not get drained by the heat. You youth who have participated have been amazing, and I look forward to seeing some more of you come out.
Thursday - meet at church at our normal 7 pm start time. Expect some fun team time and comp, and some relaxing and rejuvenating worship and lesson time.
Please remember that next Saturday, July 25th, we'll be having our Youth Group Yard Sale at Kathy and Alex Warren's. Should be a great time, and a great way to raise some money we can use to do something fun for another group of kids who get a few less chances for some of those special activities than we do. Be asking your families and neighbors if they have anything they want to part with they can put to the cause.
See you all soon!
